Detailed Product Description
A six-sided die with the units millimeter, centimeter, decimeter, meter, kilometer and a star for a "wild" side.
Ideas for Use
Have a student roll a dice and state the units shown on the top, such as centimeters. Then the student can state how that relates to the basic unit. “One hundred centimeters equals one meter.” Or the student can give the next smaller and larger unit--millimeter, centimeter, decimeter (or meter).
For more of a challenge, combine a number die with the unit die. Then the student must convert to the next higher or lower unit. For example if a student rolls a twenty and centimeters, he should say, “Twenty centimeters is two hundred millimeters.” Or he may say, “Twenty centimeters is two decimeters or one fifth of a meter.”
