Q is extremely shy.  He just refuses to go anywhere without his good friend U.  When U is with Q, he does not say or do anything.  He just stands behind Q quietly helping him to feel brave.  While U is officially a vowel, he does not make his vowel sound when standing behind Q, and he is not counted as a vowel then either.

These two friends usually come at the front of a word.  They occasionally are found in the middle of a word, but they never appear at the very end of a word.
